Event Horizon

IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119081/

Warning: language, gore, nudity

A scary sci-fi movie about a spaceship crew sent to explore the remains of the "Event Horizon", a spaceship that could jump through space, connecting one location to another, rather than traveling in a straight line, whatever generated wormhole-ish stuff it could do. The crew is joined by the man who designed the Event Horizon.

So they get to the ship, and it seems to be deserted aside from one random body floating around. Pretty quick, the ship's jump gateway generator starts acting on its own and strange things start happening. The crew has hallucinations and it ends up being that the ship is out to get them.

The movie really didn't hold my suspension of disbelief. I found myself laughing at it a number of times, because it seemed to try too hard. What I think would have been better as psychological horror turned more into a monster movie of sorts. I am disappoint.

The movie was a bit more gory than I care for, so I did turn away a couple times. I did not have enough attachment to the characters to really care what happened to them. Oh well.

They could've saved a lot of trouble if they just used a robot.

No memorable quote, though at one point I couldn't hear well and thought someone said "Don't forget your fruit cake."
